Focus T25 IS HERE

Focus T25 has arrived. If you’re a fan of Shaun T. programs like Insanity and Asylum Volume 1 and 2… that’s fantastic news for the first half of June 2013 is good.

Introducing FOCUS T25

18 months in development, T25 is focused on making workouts crazy short. Of course, that doesn’t mean “Easy”. The expectation is you work HARD. That means no rest, in it, delivering 100%.

Here’s a taste of what to expect:

T25 dips into Shaun T.’s bag of training tricks: It’s a little Insanity, a little Asylum and a little Hip Hop Abs. But the results from the training groups have been pretty impressive– and all from a hard 25 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Oh, and no rest for that full 25 minutes.  Here’s a couple samples:


How T25 Works

Focus T25  (like most Beachbody programs or ANY program worth anything) is broken into three cycles. The fancy word for that is “periodization”- breaking your training program into segments of work that has you improving over time. That said, Focus T25 breaks down into three “radioactive” segments that don’t use “months” but sections as a reference point:

Alpha: The foundation of the Focus T25 workout. This one month section focuses on getting your muscles in synch and firing on point and in good form in preparation for further training int he next segment which is….

Beta: Welcome to Core time! Now that you have the moves down, Beta pushes you into working and focusing on your core- the key element that connects both upper land lower body.

Gamma: The strength phase. Workouts that use weights and focus on growing your strength.


Can I Do T25 As A Beginner?

Good news is, T25 doesn’t have a requirement of pro level fitness to jump in. Sure it’ll work you but each workout has a “Modifier”. In this case, it’s Tonya (who you may be familiar with from the insanity or Shakeology workouts).  In each workout throughout the whole series, Tonya will be there to demonstrate beginner moves. Using this, believe it or not, you’ll get to the point you can graduate to the higher impact Focus T25 moves.

Shaun T:

“…There are major university studies out there that prove the value of shorter, more intense workouts. But I’ll save that for later. The only question now is, do you want to be one of the first to see these routines and what kind of results you can get?”

As a note, I’ve tried this program live with Shaun T. and it’s an intense 25 minutes. Coupled with a very do-able nutrition guide, I’m extremely excited to see the success so many will find with this program and just 25 minutes a day. One thing you do know about Focus T-25…. You’re Gonna Work!

    I bought and started insanity yesterday. How does the coach thing work? I am interested in something I can keep up with on my phone. I rarely cut on the real computer.

    So how long exactly will Focus T25 be?

    My initial thought when announced was “Okay, Shaun T, either another 30 day installment (sick) or a 60 day full program (even better)” But now I see three phases and immediately think this will be Shaun T’s venture into a 30 day program. I heard on one of the videos 10 weeks, but nothing confirmed or clearly stated.

    I was wondering if you or anybody in the Beachbody community knew for certain how long the program will be?

      I’d always consult with your doctor first but in most cases I’ve seen (and my wife having done Insanity Asylum and P90X2 while pregnant), absolutely. There’s also a modifier for lower impact if needed.

    I’ve moved into Beta but not sure what’s size weights to use. Not liking the stretch bands…What size do the women use on the video?

      They use anywhere from 10-25ish. Really the baseline isn’t what they’re using but what you can comfortably do with good form but that stretches you. May take some testing but a 10 lb. is probably a good place to start.
