How Do I Get Fit - P90X, Insanity and Beachbody fitness Coaching. You can change your body. This is the place to start.

Shakeology Cleanse

I’ve been preaching about Shakeology, its benefits and why I use and feel passionately that anyone who tries it will see results– the least of which is actually pulling down some whole nutrition usually (and unintentionally) left out in restricted/structured diets. Another great way to use Shakeology can also be found in what’s called the “Shakeology Cleanse”.

Cleanse diets are kind of the hotness- wash the crap out of your body and reset yourself for metabolic, fat burning action.

What’s The Point?

Designed by Beachbody test group supervisor duo Mike Karpenko and Steve Edwards. The Shakeology Cleanse follows the “dejunk”  model and goes for getting your body into a nice state of balance, efficiency and hydration for kickoff or jumpstart into the next phase (or first phase) of your P90X, Insanity or other training program.

As a note, The Shakeology Cleanse is definitely low on calories (1500) and therefore should be taken on a rest week or a series of “low performance days”. BUT, it’s nutrient rich, meaning your body isn’t going to be wanting for the stuff it needs. In short, you’re not “starving” yourself. That’s not to say it won’t be less calories than you’re used to if you’re up in the 2000+ range– which is exactly why The Shakeology Cleanse is recommended for use with low activity– not mid program.

What the Shakeology Cleanse Is Not

The Shakeology Cleanse is not starvation and it’s not for losing fat. While you may feel a loss of bloat and some folks DO lose weight, it’s not necessarily because they’re torching muscle mayo but simply because they’re dropping weight, which could be water retention, bloat or general other junk floating around in your system. The Shakeology Cleanse was designed to get your body back in stasis and all kinds of hydrated again– not necessarily as a sole route to quick weight loss.

As an example, Coach MC went through the program roughly a month ago and found she felt “cleaner” and less “bloated”. As she’s used to taking in more calories, she did feel low on energy but found the cleansing benefits were awesome. I’ve been kind of wuss-chop in giving it a try as I’ve been training for the upcoming Metro Dash and need all the energy I can get, but come August… I’m in.

Soooo… What Are The Details?

Have 3 Shakeology Shakes* a day– If you’re needing more calories, you may add one or two pieces of fruit  day (this includes a snack).

Have a Salad for dinner:
– Unrestricted veggies … go crazy
– 4 oz lean protein source
– 2 Tbs of an olive oil/vinegar dressing.
– For fatty acids, each salad will also contain 1 Tbs of chia seeds (or flaxseed or hempseed)

Drink plenty of water (At LEAST 64 oz +)
– Coffee, tea, and herb teas are fine also, as long as they don’t have additives.

The Meal Plan

BREAKFAST:
Shakeology – 1 scoop, blended with ice & 8-10 oz of water
Optional: Roughly a half cup of fruit if you’re at optimal fitness levels. If you’re not to where you want to be, you should skip the fruit here.

SNACK:
1 piece of fruit

LUNCH:
Shakeology – 1 scoop, blended with ice & 8-10 oz of water
Optional: Roughly a half cup of fruit if you’re at optimal fitness levels. If you’re not to where you want to be, you should skip the fruit here.
1 cup of green tea (if desired)

SNACK:
1 scoop, blended with ice & 8-10 oz of water
(This snack can be before or after dinner)

DINNER:
Salad-
– Lettuce/3 servings of veggies
– 4 oz lean white meat protein (most likely chicken or fish)
– Oil/vinegar based dressing

Rinse and repeat for three straight days.

Obviously, you’ll need Shakeology to give this a shot. I’m not kidding when I say it’s one of my first-choice supplements and was before I became a Coach. For more info on Shakeology, visit here.
